Vintage Massive Spanish Revival Wrought & Cast Iron Hanging Light 17” - Pair
Standing about 17” tall, each one of these lights weighs in at a hefty 19 pounds. The lamp frame is wrought iron and the “windows” are covered with a designed cast iron grate.
I believe the black paint is original. There is no sign that the lights suffered weather exposure, so their prior use was likely inside the house.
One electrical cord is cut and the other looks questionable, so neither light has been tested. Each light has a fold down scroll piece that operates on a hinge. However, one is broken off, but the scroll part is included. Given the location of the access point so close to the top, I’d guess that the lights have been electrified. You might want to re-do the entire wiring given the unknown nature of it all.
Likely stored in the basement for several years, the lights will require some clean up. The very long chains have lost a lot of paint for some reason.
