This horn is hand carved from all natural horn.  A beautifully crafted brass band with Celtic weave lines the lip.   The tip has a carved crocodile that is made from genuine brass. It has been polished inside and out.  A food safe sealant coats the interior of the horn. The front features a shield knot. The Shield Knot is deemed to be an ancient Celtic symbol of protection and was placed either on battle fields or near ill people as a means of warding off evil spirits or other dangers. Warrior would carry this symbol with them as protection on necklaces and shields. This horn stand has a simple design so that it does not take away from the drinking horn you plan to display. It is forged from iron with a natural finish. Now you can display your drinking horn in your office, den, or living room. So go get your drink on with the rest of the Vikings and don’t give another thought how you are going to display your treasured possession.  A great groomsman’s gift or just to keep your very own.
*Please wash with a gentle detergent and polish with vegetable oil to keep it from drying out. And from time to time you will want to use beeswax to coat the inside to keep from cracking and the inside drying out.  Natural imperfections may be visible on this item.
