    Lynn Bean stopped at the Pueblo Indian Cultural Center Art Show and was struck by the Zuni fetishes. To Native Americans, animal fetishes are believed to possess a "spirit power" that resides within, and that bring their owner good luck in life and love. This started Lynn on a series of watercolor paintings of various animal fetishes with their spirit images locked inside rock patterns. This work included the design of a horse fetish that she presented to The Trail of Painted Ponies, which was created as an original work of art, and has just been released as the collectible figurine, "Fetish Pony"., which she sells in galleries and at art festivals across the country.
    Lynn Bean spends her summers in Oregon and her winters in southern Nevada, creating magical artwork, which she sells in galleries and at art festivals across the country.
    Lynn’s early subjects included her own ranch animals and wild animals of the Ochoco region.
    Involvement with thewww.trailofpaintedponies.com has brought her to dimensional art, with the horse figurine as a canvas.
    With Golden Feather Pony, Lynn decided to take an artistic detour. She began by gold-leafing her entire Pony. Then, using rich and colorful porcelain paints, she added splashy abstract designs. Finally, where a saddle usually sits, she outfitted her Pony with large, jeweled feathers. In the end, she invented a magical creature that is out of this world.
    The Trail of Painted Ponies celebrates the magic of the horse as an artistic canvas, the rich culture of America, and the unique talents of independent artists. The artists behind this exquisite collection come from all different backgrounds, and the inspirational stories behind each design are as heartfelt as they are beautiful.
    The Trail of Painted Ponies announced that Westland Giftware would no longer be reproducing Painted Ponies. Beginning in January 2010,Enesco became the exclusive manufacturer and distributor of The Trail of Painted Ponies figurines and other merchandise. The Westland molds were broken and all of these original Westland Ponies should become even more highly sought after, rare, and valuable.
    My photos are of the actual pony in this listing! Please consider these images as part of the description.
    I have looked this pony over carefully and can detect no obvious cracks or chips in it prior to shipping.  Please note that some ponies (particularly older ones)may have minor imperfections or show signs of touch-up, such as under-paints or over-paints (as most ceramic and some resin pieces do) that occurred during manufacturing, as each one is hand painted. Most painted pony boxes have shelf wear or the tag may be creased or slightly bent; this does not affect the pony in any way. The pony was displayed in a glass cabinet for my personal enjoyment;
    I am selling my collection since I am down-sizing.
